My name is Amy Nicolazzo, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in the state of Ohio. I have been engaged in the mental health profession since 1997 and have developed proficiency with a number of mental health issues: depression, anxiety, stress, anger management, trauma, substance use, grief, and mood dysregulation, to name a few. I view therapy as a collaborative effort; a journey that is taken together. I have been influenced by a multitude of people over my 27 years as a therapist.
I prefer working with adults individually. Therapy with children and adolescents, as well as couples and families, takes a particular set of skills that I have not been trained in. I typically let the client define their preferred goals and then work collaboratively with them to achieve the goal objective by objective.
I started my own therapeutic journey in the mid-1980s. After being in therapy for a little while, I realized that I too wanted to be part of others' healing journeys. I believe in the process of healing and change.
