My name is Amy Gillespie and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) working with clients throughout California via telehealth. I work with adolescents and adults and have over 10 years of clinical experience, specializing in trauma, depression, anxiety, and work-related burnout. I am trained in EMDR and IFS and utilize techniques from other treatment modalities that best connect with my client's needs.
I have found that my approach works best for clients who are looking for options other than traditional talk therapy. While talking is part of the work we do together, I like to use mindfulness, somatic processing, and parts work as a way of exploring thoughts and feelings.
My communication is calm, approachable, and without judgment. An important part of therapy is feeling safe and I strive to create an environment where you can feel open to be yourself and share your feelings. I like to check in periodically to understand what is helpful or not helpful in our therapeutic work together.
