Are you frustrated because therapy just isn't working? Sometimes traditional talk therapy just isn't enough. EMDR is a unique form of therapy that targets the negative beliefs that are rooted in our past traumas and allows us to replace those thoughts with more adaptive beliefs. With EMDR therapy, you will quickly see movement to healthier thought process and feel less driven by your emotions. Together we will develop coping strategies and restore healthy patterns to assist in regulating your symptoms.

My efforts surround assisting adolescents and adults in developing a new sense of meaning and well-being in their lives. Depending on your unique needs, I may utilize skills from EMDR, along with ERP, DBT, & CBT. My style is active, responsive, & compassionate.

For some clients, the physical safe place and separation from daily distractions is helpful. While others find that online appointments allow for greater flexibility and ease of attending counseling sessions. In order to best meet your needs, I offer both in-person and online appointments. My office is conveniently located off of exit 23 in Huntersville.

PEERS® is a 10-week, evidence-based social skills group for teens 11-17 who have difficulty initiating & maintaining friendships. Teens learn social skills through didactic instruction, live demonstrations, and participate in extensive practice all while receiving real-time, individualized coaching. Parents attend weekly group sessions while teens engage in their own group. Parents will learn how to assist teens by providing feedback & coaching for socialization assignments. Teen topics include: appropriate conversational skills, appropriate humor, electronic communication, entering & exiting conversations, being a good host, good sportsmanship, handling arguments & disagreements, changing bad reputations, handling rumors & gossip, and handling rejection, teasing, & bullying.
