My ideal client is someone who is ready to begin their healing journey, no matter where they are at in the process. A majority of my professional career has been providing individual therapy to adults with a focus on the treatment of trauma, PTSD, complex PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, life transitions, relationship issues, and boundaries.
I am a certified EMDR therapist, implementing this intervention to reconnect and strengthen the neurological wiring between the thinking and feeling brain to encourage healing and reduce suffering. I utilize this therapeutic approach in conjunction with other approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT),
I take to heart this quote by Terry Real in helping patients heal: “Family pathology rolls from generation to generation like a fire in the woods taking down everything in its path until one person, in one generation, has the courage to turn and face the flames. That person brings peace to his ancestors and spares the children that follow.”
