My journey to becoming a therapist was anything but linear & evolved out of my personal commitment to holistic healing. Basically, I’ve spent my time on the couch as well & recognized in a profound way this “psychobabble” really does work! I believe healing happens when we are able to step out of our comfort zones & hold curiosity about ourselves from a bio-psycho-social-spiritual perspective within a safe supportive relationship(ok, humor is essential too). Client’s often say they feel “seen” by me at a depth others do not & I help put the puzzle pieces of experience together to “make sense" of their histories.
This allows them to hold more compassion and less judgment for their journey. My approach is relational & very client-centered. What this means in human-speak is I believe you are the expert of your own experience in the room. We will work as a team to explore the struggles, issues or diagnosis you view as life interfering or have hopes to move beyond.
We will move at pace & depth you are able or wanting. Don’t worry, I will challenge patterns I observe to be hindering you as well & together we can use the evidence-based tools & interventions I’ve learned over the years to breakthrough repetitive hindering patterns. As a result, life becomes manageable, enjoyable, symptoms subside & hope is restored.
