I have worked in both individual and group settings, serving women with eating disorders and other co-morbid mental illnesses, such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It was important for me to continue to serve the needs of individuals struggling with Eating Disorders, disordered eating and body image issues. In addition, I wanted to expand my range of therapy to include therapies for couples and families as well as for individuals. I value supporting clients in developing a greater understanding of themselves to improve their view of self, how they interact with others and the world around them.
Although my main approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and focusing on the mind/body connection, I allow space to be creative in sessions, adapting to the needs of clients. Therapy is about you, your needs and goals. Any technique or training will be employed to most effectively support you.
Seeking out therapy services is not always easy and can be uncomfortable or even scary. I want to create a safe environment for clients to get their needs/goals met. It can helpful with an objective perspective. I aim to assist clientele on creating a personal narrative through the lens of compassion and non judgment to help maneuver life's difficulties.
