I believe there is no distinction between the body and the mind. I advocate for overall health, which means during therapy we may address not only your symptoms, but also areas like sleep, nutrition, medical issues, interpersonal relationships, career/education, movement/exercise, and issues from childhood. I provide evidence-based strategies such as relaxation skills training, psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, and gentle exposure techniques to help you face your fears so your life can be a little easier. Most of my clients are women seeking help with parenting, stress, anxiety, and/or depression.
I am a National Certified Counselor and specialize in treating anxiety disorders using CBT, DBT, MI, and mindfulness-based techniques. I am a member of Postpartum Support International and working towards certification in perinatal mental health. I'm also an adjunct counselor at Spokane Falls Community College.
I'm a part-time counselor and full-time mama. When I'm not chasing my 2 young kiddos around I'm usually gardening, walking, knitting, or reading (comics, graphic memoirs, fantasy, sci-fi!). I have lived experience as a NICU parent and preeclampsia survivor (x2). I identify as a Highly Sensitive Person and an introvert so if you're either of those, I get it!
