As a licensed clinical social worker, I strive to create a safe, healthy environment for you to process life experiences. In your first session with me, I will spend time getting to know you, understanding your history, and focusing on how that history may be impacting your experiences today. From there, we focus on symptom management, treatment goals, improving relationships, and healing from past trauma. I believe our bodies keep the score, so while your mind may not hold onto traumatic or troublesome thoughts, our bodies store this information, and impact our daily lives.
My approach is evidence-based, and utilizes CBT, polyvagal theory, EMDR and DBT. Relationship building and trust are most important to me when building rapport with clients. I am trained in providing effective treatment for eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. I utilize a HAES (Health at Every Size) approach.
