I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and their families as they learn to navigate life. I have worked with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, and learning how to cope with life transitions. I also have experience conducting child-centered play therapy sessions with youth between the ages of 3 and 17. From my background of growing up in a small town, I learned to understand the importance of connection with others and hearing one's story by stepping into their own world. I believe all people should have the opportunity to be understood, heard, valued, and accepted.
I currently utilize Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) in my counseling approach. I do believe counseling is not a "one size fits all" approach though, and it is essential to develop a treatment plan to meet a person where they are, as I believe clients are the experts of their own lives.
