I am a native Costa Rican who completed a bachelor’s degree in eco-tourism. I then worked at Outward Bound Costa Rica before getting a job as a field guide in a wilderness program and shortly after became the field director before earning a master’s degree in social work.I have worked in settings such as juvenile correction and wilderness therapy. I have worked with clients from various backgrounds, particularly teens and young adults who struggle with risk-taking behaviors, defiance, and substance abuse.
I use a mix of different modalities tailored to the needs of both the client and family. These include MI, CBT, experiential therapy, and narrative therapy. I find that narrative therapy can be particularly beneficial for clients to analyze and change the stories they tell themselves about the world.
I am fluent in English and Spanish and am comfortable working with clients in either language. I have a passion for traveling and experiencing other cultures. I love the outdoors, specifically mountain biking and camping, and appreciate the power of nature. I find joy in seeing clients overcome their struggles and creating lasting change in their lives.
