I work most often with individuals who are seeking to gain a better understanding of themselves in order to live their most ideal, comfortable, and fulfilling life. Questions like "Why do I feel this way?", "How do I change this?" or even "Who am I?" are what I hope to help you answer. I believe that major life experiences and relationships with others can significantly impact mental health, so I often focus on themes of attachment and trauma, while using techniques from various models to best fit your individual needs. You are the expert on you, so I welcome clients to take the lead.
After taking some time to get to know each other and establish goals, we may explore some of your past and current experiences to identify underlying emotions, beliefs, or behaviors. I try to end each session with a concrete action (e.g. reflecting on a behavior pattern we identified, or trying a new skill) to encourage healing even outside of sessions.
A strong and supportive therapeutic relationship is an essential part of healthy growth and change. This can be a long (and scary!) journey, so I aim to be as transparent as possible.
