I specialize in working with young adults who have encountered childhood trauma, sexual trauma and/or situational trauma. Or do you and your partner seem to struggle to communicate at times, feel criticized ,feel iced out and struggling to understand each other ?
Trauma ranges anywhere from harassment to rape and can continue to impact us years later. It can show up as depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders and self-harm. I also work with couples using Dr. John Gottman's Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. I guide couples through strategies to enhance their communication and foster emotional connection.
I use talk therapy, EMDR and mindfulness/grounding practices to begin to regulate client's bodies into feeling safe again. I know what it's like to not trust your gut instincts anymore and how unsafe the world feels after a trauma. I can help, metoo.
