I have been a therapist since 1996, I founded Shining Through Counseling because I think everyone has a story to tell and needs support on their journey to wellness. Everyone's path looks different, and that is what makes us unique. Walking that path can be scary and hard. I am here to support and you and help you to heal, meet your goals and let your true self shine through. I do this by building a trusting relationship, and working together to address current and past issues or trauma, processing through them, building and strengthening coping skills and supports. I work with individual clients, children, couples, and families.
I am a trauma informed therapist. I have spent a significant amount of time working with clients of all ages. I am EMDR trained, and treat trauma, PTSD, panic attacks, or any other type of current or repressed memory of a trauma. I also am trained in CBT, DBT, ACT and work extensively with depression, anxiety, LGBTQIA issues, Substance abuse,ODD, and ADHD.
I have an eclectic approach to therapy and work well with adults, kids and teens. I try to honor the process that happens with each person and meet his or her specific needs. Every person will need a different set of skills and approach to therapy. I look forward to building that with you.
