For the past 12 years I have worked with adolescents and their families that have experienced many of the things facing a typical family in today's society. Anxiety, school refusal, lack of motivation, substance abuse/addiction, ADHD, bullying, peer struggles, self-harm, sexual orientation, suicide ideation, trauma, adoption, and much more. Even when parents have no idea what is going on, I specialize in helping parents and the young person figure it out. I provide individualized treatment for each person and enjoy finding therapeutic approaches that work for each unique situation.
One size fits all therapy doesn't have the impact that is truly needed in the complex world we live in. I work to find the approach that fits with the individual's needs, value system, and goals. I use approaches like EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness/yoga to give each person the tools needed to face their current and future challenges.
