Hi, my name is Allison and I am a mental health therapist. I am licensed in Texas, Illinois, South Dakota, and Florida. I most enjoy working with people who experience high emotion dysregulation. These might include people with personality disorders, self-harm, ADHD, PTSD, anger issues, anxiety, and/or depression. I help people learn skills to gain control over their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and to build successful lives.
My specialty is an evidence-based therapy called DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). I offer both comprehensive and individual DBT. This approach focuses on the present moment and the implementation of skills to improve quality of life. DBT is structured and intensive, requiring between 2-4 hours of therapy-related activities per week.
People who struggle with their emotions and behaviors tend to experience a high degree of hopelessness and shame. Sometimes the biggest problem is that we are never taught the skills we need to thrive. I don't believe in lost causes; I believe everyone has the capacity for growth. My goal is to help people create lives with peace, purpose, and fulfillment.

It is a 1.5-hour group that meets weekly online to learn and practice new skills over 4 different modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. New clients are about to join every 6-8 weeks.
