Hi and welcome to my profile! I am a licensed clinical social worker with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I help clients who are struggling with Anxiety, Depression, OCD, ADHD, and other life challenges. I also can act as a bridge between parents and teens, often playing the role of “translator” for teen language to parent language. I sometimes incorporate family sessions as part of the therapeutic process to enable teens and parents to work on communication skills and help foster a healthy family dynamic.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which encourages exploration of our thoughts and behaviors to learn how they influence our feelings. When working with OCD and other related disorders, I use Exposure and Response Prevention, an empirically based therapy that allows clients to begin desensitizing themselves to their fears in a controlled environment.
My approach is client centered which means that as the client, you are in charge of your own therapeutic journey. I work with my clients to understand and accept their feelings, build better self esteem, and learn coping skills for dealing with life’s ups and downs. My hope is to help you live a life according to your values as opposed to your fears.
