At the core, I believe we all want to feel loved, heard, and understood. However, there may be things getting in the way of what we want, such as trauma, family influences, and societal messaging. My goal is to co-create a space with you (and your partner) that is affirming of your unique background and experiences. We can explore where you’re feeling stuck and how to create new opportunities for healing, intimacy, and connection. I work with individuals and couples of all backgrounds but have particular interest and experience in the queer, poly/CNM, and Black communities.
As a queer Black woman, I'm intentional about using an intersectional lens in my work. We'll explore how the different parts of your identity interact with your resilience, family/relationship histories, and experiences of power and oppression. I value feedback and will be sure to check in to make sure therapy is truly tailored to your experience and needs.
Seeking therapy takes courage and can be a vulnerable process, but you don’t have to do it alone. It also takes time to build trust, so I am committed to working at a pace that feels safe and right for you. At whatever point you choose to start therapy, I would be honored to be a part of your journey.
