Hi! I'm Aliyah Simcoff, LCSW! While each therapeutic relationship is unique to each of my clients, I generally approach my therapy practice with compassion, presence, and humility. You are the expert in your own experience. I have specialized in working with clients with severe mental illness (eg. Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Severe Depression, Personality Disorders, Anxiety) as well as mild-moderate mental illness, and have worked with clients around substance use, grief, life transitions, disordered eating, incarceration cycles, and trauma processing.
I draw from a range of treatment modalities and theories including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Grief Counseling, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Eco-Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy, LEAP, Art Therapy, Feminist Theory, Systems Theory, and Psychodynamic Theory.
