Most of us just want to be have a sense of being valued, heard, and cared about, especially from our partners. Negative interactional cycles lead to conflict and result in attachment injuries, lack of connection, decreased intimacy, mistrust, sexual dysfunction, and a breakdown in the entire family system. Changing a couple's communication patterns, repairing injuries, and placing attention on the friendship leads to emotional connection and increased relational and sexual satisfaction.
I specialize in couples and am formally trained in the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, which are both leaders in the field of couples therapy. The techniques and interventions used within these models have been backed through extensive research and have been shown to be highly effective with long-standing results.
I know firsthand how difficult and overwhelming maintaining a fulfilling relationship can be, especially when it has become overrun with turmoil, hurt, anger, betrayal, and frustration. I aim to instill hope that successful relationships are possible by offering a comforting, accepting, and safe space for my clients as we work through the process of change.
