I believe that every individual is capable of making positive changes to improve their lives. Some changes can be more difficult than others, and I believe therapy can help individuals navigate through difficulties and other stressors. My goal as a therapist lies in working to help my clients overcome obstacles and life stressors by teaching skills to improve thoughts, overall mood, and move towards healthier behaviors in order for them to meet personal goals and live healthier, more fulfilling lives. I use a variety of different methods that are individualized to meet the need of each client.
I have worked in a variety of mental health outpatient settings, including as a Therapist at IntraCare treating Co-Occurring and Substance Use Disorders. Most recently I worked as a Program Therapist at Memorial Hermann, focused on improving employee mental/physical health, treating obesity, and facilitating the weight management program.
I use a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques during therapy. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of obstacles, including: anxiety and mood disorders, addiction, relationship issues, obesity, life transitions, and grief.
