As a black woman I know what it means to provide a safe space, healing, and comfort for everyone else except yourself. As a black woman I know what it means to put everyone else’s needs before your own, and to keep going even when you have nothing left to give. As a black woman I know the importance of carrying the “strong black woman” label with you. But what if I told you that being strong could have a different meaning than what you have been taught? We often hold trauma, anxiety, and depression in our bodies, which impacts our physical and mental well-being. These factors can affect how we view ourselves and those around us. Using a CBT and strength-based approach we will discover the links between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and work towards healing the mind-body connection.
