Hi! My name is Alexis Skopos. I have a license in clinical mental health counseling (LMHC). I take a very empathetic approach to therapy. I believe we all experience the world in different ways, and you are the expert in your own life - I am just here along for the ride helping you! I work a lot with life transitions, grief, addiction, adolescents, anxiety, and depression. I really enjoy working with young adults and those who are searching for their identity. I am a big ally to the LGBTQIA+, body positive, sex worker community.
My communication style is direct, but with love. I try to word things as effectively and kindly as possible while also making sure you are hearing and understanding what I mean. I try my best to meet you where you are at and use life applicable scenarios.
I had a very colorful childhood and saw my own share of therapists, but I felt like something was missing. It was great to discuss feelings, but I did not feel I was getting the potential help that I needed. I decided to go into the field to be the therapist I always needed growing up! It is cliché, but I truly try to give that experience.
