I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I earned my Masters of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University, where I focused on play therapy, adolescent therapy, and family play therapy. I completed my internship at a local non-profit working with children and adolescents who have experienced a wide array of trauma, including physical and sexual abuse. While at my internship, I worked with children, adolescents, families, and groups, with a wide range of concerns, such as anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, life adjustments, and mood related issues.
I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and EMDR which are highly effective in treating PTSD, trauma and other related disorders/issues. I also utilize the evidence-based powers of play when working with children, often ages 3-12 years old. Play therapy helps children process difficult emotions in a healing and supportive environment.
I specialize treatment to accommodate each client’s individual needs. I believe the therapeutic relationship is highly important in the healing process and I want every client to feel safe and understood.
