Hi there, I'm Alexa and I'm glad you're here! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor passionate about helping clients through anxiety, attachment and relationship issues, as well as LGBTQIA+ issues in adolescents and young adults. I have cultivated clinical experience in various settings with many populations, including a college crisis center, emergency foster care, and psychiatric residential centers, before landing in private practice.
I subscribe to psychodynamic theories, alongside interventions of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Expressive Arts. I practice using a person-centered lens, approaching each client with non-judgmental curiosity to create a customized treatment that works for you (it is your treatment after all!).
I believe our healing is tied to environmental, political, social, and economic factors- and feel it is my responsibility as a therapist to hold each client within the larger context of their lived experiences.
