As your therapist, I desire to take the time to understand your experiences, beliefs and feelings so that I may work with you to develop insight into your life and delve into the deeper potential of yourself. My goal is to help you understand that you have the ability to transcend the limitations or beliefs that are hindering you-maybe you just need some skills or a new perspective to do so! Overall, my aim is to help you discover your own power and ability to transform yourself and your life. To do this we may explore various topics, including your family of origin, previous experiences, and personality traits you have.
Awareness is a huge part of healing; I take a lot of time helping people to slow down and become more mindful. To do this, we engage in breathing techniques, meditations, and sometimes yoga postures (asanas) as I am also a 200 hour yoga instructor. I am trained in DBT and EMDR, as these modalities are great for developing great skills for processing trauma.
