My intention in counseling is to be curious, ask questions, provide encouragement and compassion, and help you understand the impact of trauma on the brain, body, and soul. Rather than solely accessing our cognitive memories to heal through trauma, I integrate somatic and mindfulness-based approaches to access the "feeling" part of the brain.
I believe the groundwork of trust, respect, and unconditional acceptance is the most important part of a therapeutic relationship (and of course, humor!). My approach is trauma-based and collaborative while using Individual Psychology, Somatic Integration, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy in my practice.
