Mrs. Sapp is a Nationally Board Certified Counselor (NBCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor, (LPC), and a Supervising Counselor, SC. Mrs. Sapp is trained in EMDR and is eager to continue her professional development in the area of EMDR with children, adolescents, and teens. Mrs. Sapp enjoys the therapeutic benefit of engaging clients in walk-and-talk therapy while utilizing ACA's facility dogs. Her mission is to empower children, teens, and their families to overcome personal obstacles and improve their quality of life. She is passionate about the impact of counseling during childhood and adolescent years.

Life can be hard and overwhelming. It is easy to feel alone during difficult times, but I am here to walk alongside you with encouragement and support. I take a person-centered approach to counseling by exhibiting empathy and providing a non-judgmental environment. I specialize in treating OCD and anxiety disorders by implementing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). In addition, I work with depression, relationship concerns, grief, stress, life transitions, and more.

I have a passion for sitting with clients in their time of need and enjoy collaborating with clients to meet their goals. Using a foundation in CBT, I enjoy developing a solid treatment plan with the client to meet their needs and reach their goals in counseling. I am a birth, foster, and adoptive mom and have a passion for working with other moms as they transition into a new stage of life. Additionally, I have training and experience working with children and teens. Using specific techniques and interventions, I can work along side your child during their time of need.

I have done a lot of work with men, women, and adolescents addressing their substance use (sometimes helping them to fulfill an obligation of court or family). But I enjoy talking with people about all life issues--goals, anxiety, depression, self confidence, self-harm, relationship issues, family issues, and healing. I have overcome a lot myself and I'd like to see you do the same!

Accepting new clients! I pride myself in being a very intuitive person and naturally allow clients to feel at ease, especially if it's their first time in therapy. I will provide a safe space for us to explore any mental health/life concerns. If you'd like a gentler approach or a more straight-forward approach, I can do either- that is the beauty of personalized treatment! I like to utilize a person-centered approach to ensure you feel heard and validated.

I have extensive training in Family Systems Theory, Experiential Therapy and as of June 2024, I am trained in Attachment Focused EMDR and working towards being fully certified. Family has always been very important to me and that’s why I love systems therapy. So many of our wounds are tied to a relationship (or a lack thereof) and at the same time, healing can only be found in relationships. Sometimes we are afforded an opportunity to heal a relationship and other times we have to find internal healing with the support of other relationships.

My approach is to help people find meaning, purpose, and hope in the face of suffering or hardship, as well as equip them with the tools to live a healthy, fulfilled life.

Instead, I strive to be the "ideal" therapist for each client. Every client presents with different problems, different goals, and different motivators. Therefore, it is my job as the therapist to meet each client where they are at and provide them with the services they need and deserve. The one thing that I believe all clients have in common is the desire to take action that will promote them to a higher level of functioning in their every day life.
