Together we will work on communication issues to strengthen the core of the relationship.
I am glad you are taking the first step towards greater mental health by reviewing your choices for therapy. Therapy can be a positive, productive, and deeply satisfying experience. It can give you a chance to address concerns affecting your relationships, spiritual beliefs, and/or your happiness and peace of mind. Therapy may be active and solution-focused, or quiet and reflective. Allow me to assist you with exploring your understanding of yourself and others, and address specific solutions for the struggles experienced across a variety of relationships.

I look forward to developing a relationship with you and your family.
Youth and adults who come to me often struggle with social-emotional and behavioral issues affecting academic progress, job functioning, peer/family relationships and self-image. These issues are often rooted in family conflict, identity confusion and trauma and can lead to more serious issues of anxiety and depression. As an interventionist, I will first help you resolve interpersonal conflicts and move outward to address family relational, social, academic, cultural and spiritual functioning.

My ideal client is one that perhaps is dealing with feelings of fear, anger, envy, uncertainty, depression, perhaps amplified by strong religious convictions and spiritual uncertainty. They are particularly uncomfortable with being vulnerable often negligent in discussing feelings and issues of religion and spirituality, but will allow a few conversations to explore what their particular and specific issues and beliefs may be, including past traumas and sexual abuse issues. This client would be open to exploring their spirituality (not religion) as a means of developing and improving coping skills and spiritual strategies.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
