My name is Alexa Da Rosa and I am a LPC in Mobile, AL. I am originally from San Diego, CA and came to Alabama to go to school and play softball. I found my love for psychology at a early age and love working with adolescents, teenagers, young adults, and adults. My scope of expertise includes but is not limited to: Anxiety, depression, PTSD, couples complications, marriage dysfunction, transitional barriers, family dysfunction, LGBTQ+ struggles, addiction, grief, divorce, behavioral complications, etc.

As a counselor specializing in the treatment of OCD and anxiety, I bring a unique blend of personal experience and professional expertise to my practice. Having overcome my own struggles with OCD, I possess a deep understanding of the challenges individuals face in managing these conditions. Drawing from my background as a former Marine and Firefighter/Paramedic, I integrate principles of discipline, resilience, and crisis management into my therapeutic approach. Utilizing evidence-based modalities such as ERP, CBT, and ACT, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and effective care tailored to each client's needs.

Life is hard. It can be beautiful and wonderful, and sometimes very hard. It is my passion to walk alongside people as they learn to navigate life’s challenges. If that looks like processing trauma, life changes, anxiety, relationship issues, or a combination of challenges, my goals are your goals. In my office I advocate for restored hope, even through dark deep emotions. I strive to provide a safe and supportive space to work through difficult emotional experiences. I have over 11 years of experience working with children and I have been working in the mental health field for 3.5 years. I specialize in helping children and adults process and cope with the things that plague their lives on a daily basis. I involve the whole family in the therapy process in order to facilitate more cohesion and better communication. I also provide psychological evaluations for ADHD, learning disabilities, and school accommodations.

My goal is to meet you wherever you are as you begin your counseling journey. Perhaps you feel out of control, exhausted by life, anxious, or depressed. I believe that the symptoms you are dealing with make sense in your unique story, and show the incredible resilience that we have to deal with life as we have known it. Sometimes these coping mechanisms no longer serve us. It is okay to realize things are not working! I have been there myself and would love to help you begin to find healing, hope, and a new path forward.

Often, those stories can include very difficult & painful events or seasons that can negatively impact our view of ourselves, how we relate with others, & our ability to live & cope with life in the ways that we desire. This can lead to feeling confused, overwhelmed, exhausted, stuck, or even hopeless. Trauma, loss, difficult relationships, & other life disappointments can all wreak havoc on our bodies, minds, emotions & relationships. Things CAN be different. Relief, growth & healing are possible. It takes tremendous courage to reach out for help. We are not meant to walk our journeys alone.

You keep replaying the incident in your mind even when you don’t want to. The event has left you feeling on edge and afraid. You can’t relax and it’s impossible to be in public without looking over your shoulder. You can’t stay anywhere too long, or you fear you will come apart. People around you don’t understand and tell you to get over it. You wish you could simply get over it, but this event has taken over your life. You don’t recognize yourself, and you don’t think you can ever be the person you were before. You can’t sleep or focus. You believe the incident was your fault and think of things you should have done differently.

My practice offers services to individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress, and obsessive compulsive disorders. Additionally, I work with families endeavoring to support a loved one who experiences emotion dysregulation and suicidality as well as families who are navigating LGBTQ+ identities.
