My goal is to meet you wherever you are as you begin your counseling journey. Perhaps you feel out of control, exhausted by life, anxious, or depressed. Maybe your marriage or relationship has reached a breaking point or you are in the middle of a life transition. I believe that the symptoms you are dealing with make sense in your unique story, and show the incredible resilience that we have to deal with life as we have known it. Sometimes these coping mechanisms no longer serve us. It is okay to realize things are not working! I have been there myself and would love to help you begin to find healing, hope, and a new path forward.

I am a gender affirming therapist and practice trauma informed care. The most common thing I hear from clients when they come to me is, "I've tried it all." They have done the work and feel they have plateaued in some way. I'm here to intuitively guide and teach you new skills and perspectives to go deeper in your connection to self, others, and this life.

Life is hard. It can be beautiful and wonderful, and sometimes very hard. It is my passion to walk alongside people as they learn to navigate life’s challenges. If that looks like processing trauma, life changes, anxiety, relationship issues, or a combination of challenges, my goals are your goals. In my office I advocate for restored hope, even through dark deep emotions. I strive to provide a safe and supportive space to work through difficult emotional experiences. You are not alone in life’s journey, and it is my hope to help you discover your strengths so you can experience freedom from painful experiences.

My practice offers services to individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress, and obsessive compulsive disorders. Additionally, I work with families endeavoring to support a loved one who experiences emotion dysregulation and suicidality as well as families who are navigating LGBTQ+ identities.

We each have a unique story. Often, those stories can include very difficult & painful events or seasons that can negatively impact our view of ourselves, how we relate with others, & our ability to live & cope with life in the ways that we desire. This can lead to feeling confused, overwhelmed, exhausted, stuck, or even hopeless. Trauma, loss, difficult relationships, & other life disappointments can all wreak havoc on our bodies, minds, emotions & relationships. Things CAN be different. Relief, growth & healing are possible. It takes tremendous courage to reach out for help. We are not meant to walk our journeys alone.

For over 20 years, I have had the privilege of providing both direct and indirect mental healthcare to youths, adults, and families in my local community and surrounding areas. Although life experiences and observations of such has been my primary educator, I attribute my education and training, as well as positions at various for and non-profit agencies to assisting me with honing my therapeutic skills in helping clients identify and rediscover their distinctive strengths to develop new ways of thinking, behaving, and relating to others to achieve a better quality of living and relationships.

I am a counseling psychologist. I work with families, couples, young adults and adults. I have over 15 years of experience with evidence-based family therapy. My approach to families, couples and individuals is strength-based and respect-based. This means appreciating that struggles we face as individuals and in relationships are not typically due to maliciousness but are part of the human struggle to do what we believe and feel is best for ourselves and our families--even if misguided. Unfortunately, we frequently misinterpret the intentions of others and experiences which impacts how we react--this can be changed and relationships can be repaired.

Some stages of life can be tough, finding relevant help that is measurable shouldn't be. Compass II Life exists solely for youth, couples, & families in need of brief therapy & support, yet with results the family can measure. Day & evening appointment availability for support with parenting, anxiety/depression, anger management, respect for parents/authority, purpose, marriage counseling, & more. Different by design, my practice targets a new approach to the delivery of mental health care & mentoring for youth/families across the Gulf Coast. Telehealth remains available for those in need of remote services or support.

As a therapist who specializes in whole-person wellness, trauma recovery, & perinatal mental health, I enjoy working with women & men who have experienced anxiety, depression, major life transitions, and/or trauma. I am a certified clinical trauma specialist with advanced training in the area of sexual trauma. I am also a certified perinatal mental health specialist through Postpartum Support International, & I am especially passionate about birth trauma and navigating the perinatal journey as a survivor of previous trauma. I am a firm believer that we all make sense in the context of what we've walked through.

I found my love for psychology at a early age and love working with adolescents, teenagers, young adults, and adults.
