My name is Kenyal. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Alabama with expertise in the medical setting. I am a part-time contract therapist with Inspire Counseling, LLC. Therapy is my passion. I take pride in being trusted with a person’s feelings and thoughts. I enjoy helping people navigate through different stages of their lives. Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and enjoy that joy you once had in your life.

I love to work with a variety of individuals, but primarily have experience with the young and the young at heart. I enjoy hearing people's stories about how they got to wherever they are before before focusing on their goals and dreams for their lives. I work primarily with couples, individuals experiencing anxiety, and people trying to find themselves.

The ideal client is honest, open-minded, willing, and invested in the counseling process. Heath has experience helping individuals with a variety of problems, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, poor self-esteem, addictions, and relationship issues. Heath understands people are on different pathways and he tailors his approach to the client's specific needs. He provides an atmosphere that is warm, safe, inviting, motivating, and challenging, in which clients will feel supported, heard, accepted, valued, and validated. These things converge to create an optimal environment for client goal attainment.

I understand that every person has different wants, needs, and unique life experiences they come into therapy with. I specialize in working with clients who struggle with substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I have a passion to see individuals heal and progress forward in their defined path of fulfillment. I am honored to walk alongside persons of all ages in overcoming real life challenges. I have specialized certification with alcohol and drug counseling and accept adolescent and adult clients from age 14 and above. I also enjoy assisting couples and families navigate relationships.

As a therapist, my role is to support you in identifying ways to use your strengths and utilize resources you have to find unique and tailored solutions aligned with your values. I will also provide perspective through situations with strong belief that every person has purpose, passion, and potential awaiting discovery. I believe in honoring the emotional vulnerability of each client by fostering a space of safety and connection.

There is hope for all! After being a teacher in public schools for 14 years and a director of a faith-based non-profit that helped troubled teens and parents, for 2 years, I decided to go back to school to become a licensed therapist. I enjoy "walking" beside of people who are hurting and struggling with stress, anxiety, trauma, relationships and/or depression. I work with adults, young adults, teens, and couples. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother trying to love others right where they are.
