My depth of experience focuses on family conflict, trauma and anxiety, but continues to grow.
Giving yourself permission to heal is creating space for the version you’re growing into. You may be in a space where you realize your trauma is not who you are and your coping skills are no longer serving you. It takes courage to face your emotional fears, engage with the therapy process, and work towards that growth and acceptance.

Parenting is hard work and children don't come with instructions! As a parent we often worry about our children's well-being and we want to do the best for our children. At the same time we can feel overwhelmed especially if our children have experienced abuse, are acting out, experiencing adjustment to a divorce or other family changes, making bad choices, or seem sad and worried. Sometimes we don't know where to turn or what to do next. You may start to feel like you've tried everything with no results. I, and my licensed associate therapists, specialize in these and other issues.

My specialty is trauma, anxiety/OCD, depression, ADHD, and couple/ family system issues.
My ideal client would be a person who is ready to grow and work on themself. I work with client's to set achievable goals and help understand what barrier are preventing them from reaching them. The first goal is seeking help and recognizing that your needs do matter and I am here to help. Most client's I find want to be understand and recognize that they are not "crazy", in fact I feel whatever your going through is pretty normal you just haven't realized it yet.

These therapeutic areas include but are not limited to, adult, family and couples.
Seeking help is not always easy. Many people grew up under the assumption that emotions and feelings are not outwardly discussed or displayed; others, have recognized the stigma that surrounds mental health issues. Fear of being labeled as mentally ill, may cause a negative impact on personal and professional goals; which is a common misconception in modern society. Such unhealthy thought patterns have led to ongoing, systemic problems in today's general populous. Courage to seek help is the first step to change. Change allows a fresh start and a different perspective on life.

I have a passion for helping others experiencing feelings of anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, and family conflict.
If 2020 has taught us anything it is that our lives can change in an instant. We had to learn how to navigate working from home, homeschooling our children, social distancing, and being away from our loved ones. Throughout these difficult times it is easy to forget about our mental health and how much it effects our physical health. My name is Elizabeth, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with all populations and have come to believe therapy is about respect and meeting people in their current season of life. We all face stressful and challenging times in our lives. Sometimes we need help understanding our feelings and behaviors. Anxiety, depression, grief, family relationship issues and substance abuse are just a few of the many reasons people seek mental health therapy services. Therapy is hard work that requires courage and commitment from clients. Change does not come easily and does not happen overnight but I believe that everyone has the ability to change. And with positive change, you can find confidence, improved relatiionships, and hope for a happier and more fulfilling future

The unknowns of beginning the therapy process can be scary. I hope to encourage each client to move forward at their own pace of progress. It is my belief that success and life satisfaction not only varies from person to person, but is also very fluid - changing with us across our lifespan. I have a special passion for empowering women, in a wide-variety of life roles and dynamics, to develop the power they already possess in order to become all they can be.

Counseling can be an unsettling idea, but what it should be is a collaborative process in which client and therapist set goals and make plans to achieve those goals. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor working with adolescents and adults to achieve a myriad of goals and resolve personal or interpersonal issues. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques so that whatever we are doing fits the needs of the client and helps them along their path to wholeness and mental health.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
