As a therapist, I am not fixing your problems, I am providing you with tools and objective insights to aid you in solving the challenges that you are currently facing. Each person is unique, whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, life crises, past or current trauma, or relationship issues I am here to listen and to provide feedback in an empathetic and objective manner.

For clients who need assistance working through current circumstances or emotional struggles, I provide space within the professional treatment relationship to facilitate the development of inner stability which helps clients effectively recover from difficult emotional material. Loss, grief and bereavement, recent or remote trauma, adjustment challenges, relationship struggles, and so much more may bring clients to my office, where they will find a safe place to unearth, process and ultimately resolve feelings, as well as increasing their level of social, emotional, occupational, academic, and day to day functioning.

Ruth Bullock has over 30 years of experience as a counselor working with adults, teens, and children. Ruth has a clinical background in mental disorders and substance use disorders, and is a licensing supervisor. Ruth provides individual, family and couples counseling.

My goal is to support individuals looking to explore their relationship with substances, support healing from trauma and disordered eating, identify ways to manage depression and anxiety, guide individuals through life transitions, and to bolster each individuals unique recovery process. As a person with lived experience, I offer a unique perspective in the therapeutic relationship that normalizes experiencing life challenges as well as life successes. I am a proponent for mindfulness, pranayama, and spirituality on the healing journey and I hold those approaches while also advocating for self-defined recovery.

Growing up in Southeast Alaska, water became a part of my life, whether it was fishing, swimming, or the endless amounts of rain. Even on the stormiest of days the water would always return to being still and calm. Over the years, I have found this to be a metaphor to life and the journeys we have.
