I believe people are capable of overcoming the challenges they face in life when they have support from a therapist who draws from their core values and strengths. I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, and self-harm/suicidal ideation. I am passionate about treating individuals who are working to overcome eating disorders. There is an enormous amount of pressure in society to be perfect, this greatly intensifies symptoms that can be improved with support. Empowering others and watching the process of awareness and recovery has been a rewarding and humbling experience.
During our therapy sessions we will work together to identify the root cause of the barriers you face and process what you can do to make a positive change. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, Solution Focused, and Strength Based therapy techniques. I have attended Seeking Safety training to support individuals who have experienced trauma.
Reaching out for help is not easy and finding a therapist you are comfortable with may feel daunting. I am confident in my ability to help my clients feel safe and at ease. I am continually reading the most current research to ensure I am providing my clients with effective and compassionate therapy.
