Together, you and your child will learn emotion regulation skills and begin communicating and expressing feelings in healthy ways. I have spent over 25 years working with children, first as a teacher, and for eight years as a mental health counselor. I am passionate about helping children learn to manage their emotions and build self-confidence. My job is to help children and families meet their goals so they no longer need ongoing therapy.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) with a strength-based, solution-focused approach. Clients will identify unhealthy thinking patterns; discover their strengths and resiliency; and recognize how their feelings are connected to their thoughts and behaviors. In order to improve our feelings or behaviors we first have to correct our unhealthy thinking.
