By the time you are searching for a counselor, you have spent countless hours considering your next steps. That is why our therapeutic relationship is always at the forefront of my mind. I do not take my role as a therapist lightly and recognize the tremendous courage it takes to start. My objective is to work collaboratively with you to help make necessary changes within your life. My goal is that you feel heard, valued, and cared for. I help adults, adolescents, and children with a variety of concerns including parenting support, depression, anxiety, and phase of life transitions.
I am an experienced counselor and currently serve as a professor at The University of North Texas where I train graduate students in their pursuit of a degree in counseling. I have published many journal articles, book chapters, and present often to train counselors in play therapy, parent consultation, and additional topics.
As a mom, I advocate for supporting parents in navigating your identity in parenthood. As a Certified School Counselor, I hope to be an advocate for you and your child in the school system. As a Persian American, I am fluent in conversational Farsi. I know finding a counselor can be difficult, and I hope to support you through the process.
