I work with individuals, couples, and families to create new experiences that lead to healing, including healthier attachments and liberation from pain, shame, blame, sadness, fear and other painful emotions. As a marriage and family therapist, I have been trained in systemic therapy and include the context of relationships in my clinical work. My approach looks at the whole person and the whole system and involves Experiential, Structural, Emotionally Focused and Gestalt psychotherapy models. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an eye-movement based therapy for the treatment of trauma.
I also have experience working with: grief, anxiety, depression, intercultural/inter-religious relationships, sexual issues, pornography, infidelity, divorce, relationship conflict, premarital counseling, single life challenges and life transitions that require finding new purpose and meaning.
Healing involves the deep exploration, experience, and release of traumatic emotions as we develop a new understanding of ourselves and others. Healing takes time though and it is important to learn how to manage and function as best we can during this challenging but worthwhile process.
