I meet every client "where they are" and work with them to move forward, heal and re-set, as needed. The client is guided through the therapy process with the sessions having a comfortable conversational style. I practice with a strength-based approach to address problems/issues, such as: depression, anxiety, trust, coping with medical/chronic conditions, self-esteem, anticipatory grief and loss and relationships. It is very rewarding to observe clients find their strength/power as they work through what they have identified as "problems" and move towards feeling better.
My background includes clinical work within four large health systems (Inova, Children's National Medical Center, Novant & Atrium Health) and as a BetterHelp therapist.
You do not need to worry about what to say to get started! I take an evidence-based approach to therapy and work with clients to identify the change they wish and provide treatment/techniques to meet goals. I help clients recognize and practice healthy thought patterns (in place of cognitive distortions).

Healthy Thinking - Group for Adolescents
Healthy Thinking Group for Adolescents offers (high school) participants an opportunity to learn about Cognitive Distortions and patterns of healthier thinking. Past participants report gaining personal insight and strength in recognizing their own and others' healthy thought patterns. Next group start date is TBD. Please contact me if you are interested and once 6-8 individuals express interest, I will open up a new group. In the meantime, if you are interested in working on Healthy Thinking, I can support you in individual therapy sessions.
