Using a cognitive-behavioral framework, and fun, hand-on tools such as writing, drawing, and role-playing, I help examine and edit assumptions that form our thoughts, lead to our feelings and motivate our actions. I then help build skills in areas such as mindfulness, anger management and communication to act on new insights.
In addition to a B.A. in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work, I have extensive training and experience in the use of the expressive arts in prevention and therapy. I am also the author of "Teaching Emotional Intelligence" (Skyhorse, 2016) and have expertise in social-emotional learning.
