You might be realizing you need support - that maybe you’re not handling things as well as you’d hoped. Maybe the What Ifs & the doubts have taken over, or you’re not feeling motivated anymore. You’re not sure how it started, but you’re tired of feeling this way. It scares you to think nothing will change. Maybe you’ve had a loss in your life, or maybe you’re just not happy with how often you use your phone/TV, weed, or alcohol to cope with things. Maybe you're not sure what to do to make changes. Maybe this is the first time you've considered counseling - if so, kudos for taking that first step.

Currently accepting sliding scale clients! Jedi master Yoda once said; “Pass on what you have learned. Strength. Mastery. But also weakness, folly, failure also. Yes, failure most of all. The greatest teacher, failure is". We often seek out therapy because something within us yearns for change. Multiple parts with their own voice, habits, and desires, vie to be heard within. Some parts may believe failure is something that makes us lesser. American culture steeps us in the idea that shame is a good motivator for change, yet it only creates more pain. By exploring our shame, our pains, and what we deeply yearn for, we can grow.

I am an occupational therapist working with all humans on understanding & regulating their own unique sensory system. Most sensory based OT's work with children, but after 7 years of working with young children & their parents, I began to see the importance of supporting neurodiverse adults, especially late diagnosed or undiagnosed adults. I am passionate about working with people to develop an awareness of their processing system for an improved quality of life. I am seeing clients who struggle with attention, energy, sleep, eating, substance use, daily living tasks, emotional regulation, relationships, mental health, and more.

As a couple, family, & individual therapist, I honor the importance of our inherent human need to be in fulfilling connection with others and ourselves. And I recognize how difficult this can sometimes be. Whether you're feeling disconnected from your partner, overwhelmed by the level of conflict in your day-to-day family interactions, going through a major life transition, or seeking individual therapy to explore how past hurt and current challenges are constraining you from more fully inhabiting your life, therapy can be a powerful tool for growth. I offer a free consultation to explore our possible work together.

As your new counselor, I aim to be a valuable support by helping you reconnect with your inner wisdom for self-advocacy. We'll do this by examining your strength-building practices through expressive arts therapy, allowing life to be your stage. We'll explore dreams with Adlerian therapies and delve into play and past traumas to connect with your inner child or teen, or perhaps discover your inner parent. Together, we'll track sensations across mind, body, and spirit to enhance grounding during our sessions. Welcome, and thank you for including me in your journey.

Welcome. My therapy practice was built with a vision of providing care to my community in ways that reflect my values. Those values center around my belief that healing comes when we have access to safety and authentic connection, because the deepest answers we may need arise ultimately from within ourselves. I seek to be an active participant in creating a culture of care for all people. I come into this role from my own healing journey that is always on-going, still often surprising, and practiced with intention because it’s been my most meaningful source of freedom, inspiration, strength, and clarity.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
