My specialties are the LGBT/queer community, ADHD/neurodivergence, spirituality, social anxiety, intergenerational trauma, and plant medicine/psychedelic integration.
Many of us feel like we don't belong, carry burdens from past traumas, and struggle to balance caring for ourselves with having a fulfilling life. My approach will help you respond to intense emotions and memories with more curiosity and speak to the parts of you that feel self-critical, alienated, and alone in a more compassionate and nurturing voice. We will explore your unmet needs and help you express yourself with more vulnerability, confidence, and authenticity. You will discover that the person most equipped to help with your own healing is you, and you are never truly alone.

I specialize in working with individuals 18+ who struggle with anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and life transitions.
In this moment you are doing the best you can, even if you aren’t feeling that way. Often we find ourselves wanting to improve our life and not sure where to begin. Making the decision to start therapy and finding the right therapist you feel safe enough to be vulnerable with can feel overwhelming, leading to avoidance of going after the support you deserve. If you are feeling overwhelmed by your emotions, replaying back past disappointments, worried about the future, struggling to build meaningful relationships, regretting decisions, or struggling to navigate a life transition, I may be the right therapist for you.

I am a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience with teens and adults. I have worked with patients to be more focused and efficient and unlock more of their minds' potential. At times, this has included diagnosis of ADHD. Some of my patients avoided others due to social anxiety, or struggled with free-floating anxious thoughts of any type. A majority of these patients found ways to live and interact with others in ways they had only dreamed of. Through mindful acceptance, patients have been able to recruit their own power for self-healing and enjoy a life based on gratitude and being of help to others.

Navigating ADHD, binge eating, LGBTQ+ issues, and relationship troubles often share a common thread: feeling out of touch with our desires and needs. ADHD can leave us struggling to focus, complete tasks, or commit to projects. Binge eating offers fleeting relief, quickly replaced by guilt and shame. Being queer can impact self-esteem, and relationship issues add to the mix. We often long for consistent stability in our lives. Therapy can be transformative, offering the support needed to foster lasting growth and resilience. It provides a consistent space to reconnect with yourself and build a fulfilling life.

My passion is to work with autistic and neurodivergent individuals. Living as a neurodivergent individual, it’s frustrating how often the systems that autistic and neurodivergent people interact with are not trained in working with folks like us. After being diagnosed with ADHD, I made it a priority to learn more about neurodivergent conditions to contextualize my own experiences, and better help others like me. I have worked in multiple settings with neurodivergent individuals, including crisis response and outpatient therapy.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
