I specialize in couples and families navigating life transitions, pre-marital or pre-commitment preparation, parenting challenges, high conflict, intimacy and sexual dissatisfaction, and managing relationships with ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Throughout our lives we learn behaviors and patterns that offer a sense of safety, but later become ineffective and difficult to change. This often isn't realized until it impacts our relationships and feels like our world is unraveling. Raising a child in these uneasy times can be frustrating, confusing, and scary, and it’s okay that you’re feeling like you could use some support. As a counselor and “feelings expert,” I create a safe space for your child to explore emotions. I use play, art and activity-based approaches to help your child talk and play through their uncomfortable feelings. I love to sit on the floor, draw, build and have fun with children to help them open up to me. For your older children, I use activity-based therapy and talk therapy in session.

For the past 5 years, I have counseled children, adolescents, and adults in the New Orleans area. My company, Jacquelyn Walther, LPC-S, NCC, currently does have a wait-list and accepts most insurance including Medicaid. I presently see clients in the afternoons, Monday through Friday and on Saturdays, I see clients throughout the day.

If you embrace it in its natural state the marble will reveal its form to you.” Meaning, no matter how hard one tries with a chisel and hammer the natural properties of the material itself will determine how it can be formed.
