As a solution-focused therapist, I work with clients to "hack" their brain, replacing ADHD flight or fight responses with reactions that algin with a more manageable life.
Are you feeling trapped in a cycle of progress and setbacks, struggling to maintain consistent success? You're back at the beginning: Your home feels disorganized and relationships are strained. Your inner voice is negative leaving you feeling guilty, leading to people-pleasing and burnout. Imposter syndrome sets in at work, and you feel drained. Motivation to exercise is low, you find comfort in food and now you hate looking in the mirror. You swipe through dating apps, but only find short-term flings, leaving you guarded and losing hope. It’s starting to impact your everyday life and you're not sure how to get back on track.

As people we want connection. Connection to ourselves, others, and the world around us. When suffering with mental health challenges, those connections can be lost, make it difficult to do the day to day and can make the human experience painful. Whether you are suffering from anxiety, depression, substance use, ADHD, low self-esteem or just life, therapy has the power to assist in gaining new skills, empower through education, and provide a safe space to process those challenging feelings.

My specialties include working with adults and adolescents living with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and stress.
Daily avoidance, endless phone scrolling, and chronic anxiety can leave anyone feeling disconnected and frustrated. Together we can explore the root of these challenges and develop coping skills, resilience, and a deepened understanding of self. I tailor my approach to each person's unique goals and don't believe in a one-size-fits-all treatment.

I specialize in working with professionals with ADHD who want to love themselves for who they are.
Living with ADHD is exhausting: You have to mask around others to appear "normal". You may beat yourself up because of it, causing low self-esteem. Sometimes, it can cause you to have a hard time focusing on the tasks you have to get done. Conflicts occur between you and your loved ones as a result of your executive dysfunction. You are not alone. Like many of us, you’re probably someone who has made valiant efforts to change your life, but because of you being wired differently, it can be hard to do so.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
