It can be tough to build up the courage to start (or restart) therapy, so I want to acknowledge this first step you are taking and for getting this far! My name is Abby and I hope to provide a therapeutic space where a person feels heard, respected, and valued. For those with a creative side, I enjoy bringing art, storytelling, and other creative outlets into session.
Our introduction meeting will be an opportunity for you to share what brought you here. Whether you are new to therapy or are trying it again, you will be given the space to ask questions about my approach to therapy. This will be a "get to know you" session with the understanding that building a therapeutic connection takes time and is not built under press
My biggest strengths are my ability to listen and my willingness to learn. I encourage feedback about my approach and strive to create a space where you feel comfortable to tell me what is working and what isn't. Part of my role is continuing to learn best practices on how to support those trying to reach a goal and finding ways to integrate these practices
