I believe in a safe and open relationship between client and therapist is the foundation of change, and I value getting to know each of my clients to best understand your experiences. I believe in identifying and using your strengths and values to help you progress toward your therapy goals. Social justice is an important value of mine, and I work with clients to identify systemic factors that impact you, your relationships, and your mental health, to view the bigger picture of client problems and avoid over-pathologizing clients, especially those from marginalized communities.
My training as a generalist has prepared me to work with a variety of client concerns such as anxiety; depression; trauma; identity, relational and/or family problems. I have a passion for working with clients with concerns unique to the LGBTQ+ community. I am also trained in trauma-informed therapy, including EMDR.
I am an affirming individual who highly values equity, inclusion, and justice. I have received specialized training in the treatment of sexual concerns and couple therapy. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye-Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing), an approach to therapy useful when healing from trauma(s). I look forward to our work together!
