In today’s world we can get so caught up in all of the images that flash in front of our faces or noises that flood our ears that we forget to look inward to take care of ourselves as human beings. I hope to provide a collaborative space in which the people I work with feel heard, understood, and cared for. The way that I approach counseling is from the perspective that each individual is connected to other individuals in some way. In turn we all affect and are affected by one another. That perspective really is obvious in marriages, couples, and families. However, I see those effects when I work with individual clients as well.
Those influences sometimes have affected us so much that we have developed patterns of thinking and feeling that shape the way we operate in relation to others and even the way we see ourselves. My goal is to work with individuals, couples, and families to challenge patterns of thoughts and feelings that may be causing distress in their relationships.
My hope is that individuals feel that their relationships are a place to thrive and flourish. Our time together will be spent identifying and exploring thoughts and feelings that keep individuals from being known by those they want to be known by. Through counseling, my desire is those who feel the most invisible to feel visible.
