Are you struggling with life transitions, job stress, health issues, or relationship challenges? I am committed to helping you learn strategies that will help you change "the story" around whatever is keeping you stuck in your negative mindset.
It is much easier to explore creative solutions in a safe, non-judgmental place where you can move from uncertainty, ambivalence, or self-doubt. It is then possible to make the necessary changes with clarity, self-acceptance, and the courage to take action steps toward achieving your goals.

Effective therapy begins with a genuine client-therapist relationship.
Creating compassion and understanding for yourself is different than making excuses for your behavior. When we are able to understand how our backgrounds and experiences influence the way we relate to the world around us, we are able to become more intentional in our relationship with ourselves and with others. Together we can explore how to best support you in living a life guided by your values and deepen your understanding of your identities.

I truly believe that the therapeutic relationship in itself is where the healing process begins and that the diagnosis and treatment plan come second to that.
Therapy is about you – your successes and strengths, your stumbles and hurts, your needs and goals. Pain has a way of making us feel isolated and alone. It can tear us up on the inside while hiding from others on the outside. We often believe that we are feeling pain because we are not doing something right, so we think that if we just “try harder” or “do better” then we can make the hurt go away. Often, our pain is like a warning light on the dashboard of our car. It’s trying to tell us something important that, if ignored, could be dangerous and impair our ability to function well - or at all.

I enjoy working with teens, adults, couples and families, and I believe in the healing power of relationships: no matter the wounds, if all parties are willing to heal, I will help. In today’s changing environment, we are often disconnected and fragmented; this can be seen and felt on both micro and macro levels, contributing to high levels of stress and anxiety. I am fiercely committed to restoring essential connections in our relationships with one another, our environment and mother earth. One of my primary goals is helping others achieve optimal performance in personal, relational, and professional areas of one’s life.

I work with my clients on a relational level, seeking to uncover the ways in which particular circumstances and situations affect the whole person-mind, body, and soul. Together we will explore the reasons why you find yourself facing repeated undesirable challenges, and how to overcome them with new and better solutions. I will cater my approach to your needs in order to guide you toward lasting, positive change.

I AM CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS - CHECK BACK MAY OR JUNE 2023 -- I work with men and women, who may be single, married or simply trying to figure it all out. I work with clients who may have a devastating sense of feeling lost, maybe even disillusioned with their daily life. Many have reached a point where their daily life has become overwhelmingly painful or worse are experiencing emotional numbness. I find whether you are single or married your current experience in life is not beyond hope for a better day. I see a flourishing life as one that affirms your own dignity along with the dignity of those around you.

—> Not taking new clients <—Let’s clear blocks to living the life you want. Speaking up, claiming your right to happiness, stepping ahead with joy and confidence. Sometimes old patterns, beliefs or traumas get in the way. I use a blend of shamanic and other spiritual methods along with science-based neurological trauma clearing techniques. Sometimes the origins of your blocks are from childhood, past lives or even ancestral patterns. Clear core beliefs like "I am not enough" or "I don't deserve". And build new patterns (and neuro-networks) of success, self love and confidence. See: Facebook Jovanna Casey MSW LMHC for reviews.

I have worked with children, adolescents, adults and families for over 30 years. The decision to enter counseling is often a difficult one, but the rewards from a positive and productive experience are abundant. There are challenges at every stage of life that are difficult to manage without support and good information. My goal is to help every client discover what will work best for their situation in the most efficient and respectful process possible. All of us function best when we know what we want and manage our behavior to reach those goals. Good therapy is worth the investment.

My ideal client is someone who is motivated and ready to explore. A significant part of therapy is being able to be open and curious about the patterns we see in out life and how they impact us both positively or negatively. For kid and teens, my ideal client is someone who is looking for a space to express themselves and to feel safe with that expression.

Often when someone experiences trauma or severe life stressors, their life begins to unravel. I meet you where you are. The places in you that are lost and hurt and find a gentle supportive way to guide you and help you return to your core. To regain balance in your life. This is the work I have done since 2005 with the Native American Community. I help those who are deeply traumatized, by events in their life, those who have suffered abuse, neglect and grief.

The focus of my practice is individual (young children, adolescents and adults) and family therapy. I genuinely love working with children, adolescents and families who are struggling with the tasks required to get through a day to those who have "tried everything" and feel lost. Or, individuals and families who are facing a crisis or transition and do not know how to navigate their way, much less help their children. I work together with my clients to identify barriers and the path forward so they can function effectively in their day to day and feel successful in what they do and how they engage.

I believe that having a compassionate and non-judgmental person to talk to can feel like a breath of fresh air. If you are feeling ready to begin exploring your thoughts, feelings, behaviors and experiences in order to gain insight and find solutions, I would be honored to help.
