I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. I have extensive experience treating a variety of concerns including eating disorders, grief, trauma, relationship issues, mood and anxiety disorders. I am a couples' counselor, and I am a Christian. In my practice I teach mindfulness, improving communication, setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, coping with stress and life transitions, improving your sense of well-being. I work with teens, adults, couples and groups.

My biggest passion is working with parents and families in meeting the needs of their children, especially children who struggle with managing their emotions or anxiety. Most of the time, kids under the age of 12 really need their parents' involvement in order for therapy to be successful. If you are struggling with an eating disorder, I can help! I know the isolation, denial, justifications and struggles that make recovery difficult. I aim to create a space individually and with peers where you can experiment with recovery and see if it is better than your eating disorder. Eating disorders thrive in isolation, so peer support and building a recovery community is a large part of my treatment model. If you are at the place where you want to try something different, then let's work together! I use both harm-reduction and hold full recovery is possible if that is what is important to you. Telehealth openings currently available. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist and trained in EMDR, who specializes with children and teens. Through combining play therapy and EMDR techniques, I help clients heal through trauma and crises they have experienced. I strive to create an affirming, safe environment for all clients, including LGBTQ individuals. I can assist LGBTQ children, teens and their families navigate through potential life challenges. When I have openings become available, they are typically in the middle of the day. Active clients are given priority for after school scheduling.

Life is just getting too hard. The nightmares, the memories, the sleepless nights, the triggers, what do I do with it all? Will it always be this way for me? Trauma, CPTSD, and PTSD can feel overwhelming, frustrating and isolating. It's possible nobody around you understands, or they are telling you that you should "get over it", or that you should have been able to move on by now, and you want to. You want to be able to connect with people again, to feel safe in your environment and in your body. You want to feel better, and you want to thrive.

Life can be wonderful, but it also is full of hardships and struggles. Keeping it all inside often leads to more suffering. One can feel caught in patterns affecting all aspects of their lives, but I know people can grow. Therefore, I provide an environment of support, respect, warmth, and empathy where you are heard and seen. My passion is assisting traumatized and distressed patients in their healing. Common trauma symptoms include anxiety; depression; obsessions; compulsions; physical and emotional distress; difficulty concentrating, sleeping, connecting with others; negative feelings and thoughts; and feeling isolated, alone.

I work very collaboratively with my clients to find a balance between starting where you are and providing the support you need to move towards the goals you have in mind. I work with a variety of issues including learning to cope with depression, life transitions, improving relationships, and learning to cope with significant losses. I also specialize in treating anxiety/stress and substance abuse/dependence. In my experience, a match between a therapist and client is an important part of moving toward your goals. I find it helpful to talk briefly by phone about the concerns you want to address.
