Not accepting new clients
I believe that everyone has the power to change, grow, adapt and evolve. My goal is to help my clients embrace the mystery of life and help them overcome life's challenges. "We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the life that is waiting for us."-Joseph Campbell. I use a client centered approach while respecting my client's right to self determination, privacy and competent behavioral healthcare.

Becoming more mindful of how our thoughts affect our emotions allows us to truly see the connection our behaviors have in our day to day lives. I am a strengths-based and client centered therapist practicing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have also had training through UC Davis to incorporate Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques in session. I treat mood disorders such as Depression, Anxiety, and Bipolar disorder. I help support those who have experienced trauma and PTSD. Serious mental illness such as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective, and Bipolar disorders are also a passion of mine.

Do you desire to live life fully as your authentic self but feel held back by patterns, thoughts, responses, and beliefs? For so many, the journey towards self-acceptance and healing feels like a maze of obstacles and frustrations. When we feel shame, dislike, or distrust in ourselves due to choices we have made or experiences we have had, it can be hard to engage wholly in our lives. This can impact all areas of life including relationships, jobs, health, and overall enjoyment. Therapy can help you find the tools and acceptance needed to heal.

Hi! My name is Snow Lee, LMFT 109967. I have been working in the Mental Health profession for over 10 years. I believe that every individual has the power and ability to write their own story. We are all unique individuals, and we strive to be better, but sometimes we get lost in a vicious cycle. When a person becomes stuck, they experience symptoms of anxiety, sadness, helplessness, hopelessness, low self-esteem, lack of energy & motivation, and even a lack of spiritual energy.

Spirituality Therapists

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?

Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?

There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?

Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?

Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
