With warmth and encouragement, I help guide you in processing and developing behavioral and mindfulness-based self-management techniques that will allow you thrive.
When life is overwhelming or you feel stuck, I can help you move toward self-management, joy and purpose. In a comfortable, positive and safe environment, I help couples learn to communicate gently and openly so that they can enjoy a deeply connected relationship. I help parents and teens to adjust, team-up and learn to talk to one another through life's biggest hurdles. Let's create a plan and execute it, moving from self-doubt to confidence, from anger to understanding and freedom, and from anxiety to peace of mind.

I follow a strength based model of practice that incorporates a combination of insight oriented, cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness based interventions.
The decision to pursue counseling is an extremely important and personal one. And, finding the right therapist is a crucial part of the process. I have been practicing in the field over 25 years and have worked in a variety of settings with adults and adolescents. In addition to having extensive experience in helping those who have suffered grief and loss, I am particularly skilled at working with highly sensitive individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, developmental issues, and identifying, understanding, and changing repetitive patterns that do not serve them.

I often incorporate CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and EMDR into my practice.
When everything is in proper order and balanced, healing unfolds naturally. However, we do not exist in a vacuum. Life can impact us in profound ways. We may at times feel stuck, overwhelmed, or hopeless. Sometimes we cannot see the “elephant in the room” because it all looks gray, something blocks our view, we thought it was “normal”, or believed we were the “problem”. When we pinpoint the source of distress and enhance the tools under our belt, we have increased capacity for positive change. Through the therapeutic process, I strive to help others with self-discovery, personal growth, and increased quality of life.

Life is a continuing journey of growth and change. How we handle that growth and change will determine how successful we are in navigating relationships, careers, personal development, and obstacles that we come across in our daily lives. Oftentimes it is difficult to process everything going on in life when you're at the center of it, even when things are going well! Therapy is a resource to help process everything that make us who we are, the good and bad: depression, anxiety, self-confidence, trauma, identity discovery, toxic relationships, aimlessness, conflict with peers/family, career development, loss/grief, and much more.

My ideal client is the person who deals with everyday struggles such as locking yourself out of the house or pulled over by the police for a tail light out. Maybe a tooth cracked or you can't find your passport. Life can be tough at times. Whatever the issue may be, we can collaborate to create goals in an effort to decrease unwanted symptoms and behaviors. My office is a safe space to share, be heard, understood, supported and validated.

Nurturing our mental health has never been as important as it is today. Life can, & often does, get overwhelming. This can take a toll on our hearts & minds; however, we can always find our rhythm again. My practice allows for a safe space to explore your inner world, reflect upon your experiences, understand impulses and desires, and process your feelings & emotions. Together, we will re-build the road back to your authentic self by uncovering your hidden strengths & resources. I use a multi-modal approach to therapy, as a 'one size fits all' approach simply doesn't do justice to the complexity & diversity of the human experience.

Are you a parent who is experiencing burnout? Are you a parent that feels alone or isolated? Are you exhausted from the expectations of perfect parenting? A new national survey from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center confirms you are not alone. This survey indicates that 62% of parents feel burned out by their responsibilities as a parent. Your parenting style can often be impacted by many factors including intergenerational patterns, socioeconomic status, childhood abuse, and trauma. Many of us were never given the tools to navigate the intense experience of parenting.

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in working with ethnic minorities, survivors of trauma (specifically survivors of interpersonal trauma), and LGBTQIA+ individuals. I approach therapy from a multicultural, feminist, strength-based, and relational perspective. I will see you as a whole person with multiple (sometimes incompatible) identities. I aim to empower you to use your voice. Just like being in any other relationship, the therapist-client match is very important. Together, we will work together to address the issues you are coming in with by learning more about yourself and how you interact with others.
